Dance Your Way to Boss Kills in ToR...Literally

Posted in The Old Republic by Starym at Wednesday, January 4, 2012, 18:49

More Old Republic news! I couldn't let this one slip as it's too hilarious/horrible. As exploits and bugs go, this one, I think, takes the cake.

If you use the /getdown emote your character starts dancing which seems to be so bewildering to some mobs that they simply can't concenrate and interrupts their casting. Now, this can even work on bosses and boss abilities, although you'd still have to keep aggro which might be a bit of an issue while dancing, but you could always just pop the emote out when on low health or there's a particularly nasty boss ability incoming and similar.

I'm sure a patch will be forthcoming very soon and it might be interesting to see how/if EA and Bioware handle people that use this glitch to get some endgame gear.

@Starym 3 of my freinds had the same issure (and many others) and they quited the game yesterday. They had decided to play Swtor till Diablo III came but they couldn't stand the amounts of bugs.

I haven't encountered any bugs yet, nothing that has spoiled a quest, dungeon or my gameplay experience. WoW has had some pretty horrendous bugs itself it just comes with the territory, I'd also be more inclined to give SWTOR a break on the bug front considering its Biowares 1st MMO and its been out less than a month. If you've ever worked with any sort of code things you never even think of come up as bugs which you overlook untill it actually comes up in use or testing.

Ok...just...I can't even comprehend how stupid the developers of this game are. I just went to the Imperial fleet normally, I'm level 29 and I see a quest giver. So naturally i click on him, dialogue starts, completely bugged out and it basically spoils the end of the Sith Inquisitor storyline (or at least part of it). I mean random bugs is one thing but REALLY? I'm 31 levels away from the end f my storyline and I now know where I'm going to end up becuase some retard screwed something up in the patch.

I am slowly losing my patience with this game....

this game iis soooo full of bugs it almost hurts. But well, it's nice to see some bugs are at least fun hahahha. Worst thing is, the /getdown emote was "fixed" like yesterday cause it wasn't working. The game is still enjoyable, if it wasn't for the hours and hours of pointeless WoW discussions.

In Bosses defence - if you would try to kick somebody`s ass and they fight back for a while, and then suddenly jumps off - turns around and goes all RiverDance on You - You would get confused for a sec there as well!

on a more serious note. Love Swtor - taking it slow - level 34 atm. Great experience - and not so many bugs on lower levels. Heard its worse in Endgame, but still much better than any recent launches. and PVP is awesome imo!

"Sadly" it's been fixed. It was fun while it lasted tbh. :)
